‘Luke Cage’ Releases Method Man’s ‘Bulletproof Love’ Track
Now that everyone has had a chance to binge through Luke Cage, there’s no overlooking the series’ impressive soundtrack. The icing on the cake saw an original “Bulletproof Love” rap performed by Method Man himself in-series, which Marvel has now made available online.
You’re warned of minor spoilers from here on out, but where the most recent Luke Cage trailer gave away that Method Man would appear as himself within the series, few predicted it would lead to an original track for the show. The scene of its debut proved especially powerful as well, with Method Man recalling his heroic encounter with Cage, overlaid with a montage of black men walking the streets in Cage’s signature “bulletproof” hoodie.
The track itself was arranged by Luke Cage composers Adrian Younge and Ali Shaheed Muhammad, with Method Man performing. “Bulletproof Love” is also available to download on iTunes, with a full soundtrack coming on October 7 in various formats.
In the meantime, all Luke Cage episodes are available to stream on Netflix.
