New ‘Luke Cage’ Featurette Reveals Hero for Hire’s Origin (And Hair!)
If Luke Cage fans had to pick one standout moment from the trailer, it would likely be that of the third Defender outfitted to look like his classic comic appearance, tiara and all. As it turns out, we’ll see a whole new side of Luke Cage come September 30, as the latest featurette reveals a bit of Cage’s origin, including some very questionable wigs.
Netflix released the latest featurette from the newest Marvel series, as cast and crew tease some of the hard-hitting action in new footage. The new video also contextualizes some of Cage’s history with Jessica Jones, before moving uptown and brushing up against Cornell “Cottonmouth” Stokes. Plus, did we mention flashback hair?
Says the official synopsis:
After a sabotaged experiment leaves him with super strength and unbreakable skin, Luke Cage (Mike Colter) becomes a fugitive trying to rebuild his life in modern day Harlem, New York City. But he is soon pulled out of the shadows and must fight a battle for the heart of his city – forcing him to confront a past he had tried to bury.
Netflix’s Luke Cage will feature among its supporting cast Sons of Anarchy vet Theo Rossi as “Shades” Alvarez, alongside Mahershala Ali’s Cornell “Cottonmouth” Stokes, Alfre Woodard’s Mariah Dillard, Erik LaRay Harvey’s Diamondback, Frank Whaley’s Detective Rafael Scarfe and Simone Missick’s Misty Knight. Additionally, Rosario Dawson is confirmed to her reprise her role as Claire Temple for a more significant arc.
We’ll also likely meet Iron Fist toward the end of the season as well, but stay tuned for more news of Luke Cage’s September 30 premiere!
