After being left off the final U.S. Soccer roster for the World Cup in Brazil, the 32-year-old has announced today that this will also be his final MLS season. He's set to retire when the season comes to a close. He announced the decision in a post via his Facebook page:

Donovan will go down as one of the greatest American soccer players to ever take the pitch — he is the top goal-scorer in MLS history and in U.S. national team history. A legend in the American soccer lexicon, Donovan also enjoyed success in the Premier League with Everton during his career. He remains an icon of U.S. soccer, so we salute him in whatever comes next.
