When everyone was obsessing over Landon Donovan being cut before the U.S. Soccer team headed to Brazil, Maurice Edu was the other big name to be told he wasn't coming to the World Cup, as one of the final cuts for Jürgen Klinsmann's 23-man roster.

The 28-year-old Edu is a midfield star for the Philadelphia Union of MLS, after a stint in the Scottish Premier League (and one brief appearance with Stoke City in the English Premier League). He is also, apparently, a gigantic sneakerhead. In a recent interview with PhillyMag.com, Edu revealed that his collection — which began with him saving up money from a job at a pizza parlor — is currently 400+ pairs of kicks. Check it out:

In a sneaker-obsessed city, Maurice Edu, midfielder for the Philadelphia Union, might be the biggest sneakerhead in town. His Center City apartment is filled with them—cobalt blue studded Louboutins, leopard-print Guiseppe Zanottis—and this is only a mere fraction of his collection...

How many sneakers do you have?

Here, there aren’t too many. Probably, like, 70 here.

And how many in total?

Probably 400 in total.

Interestingly, Edu is sponsored by PUMA, and yet he has hundreds of pairs of Jordans. Respect.
