N.E.R.D. Get ‘Locked Away’ on New Song
Being a N.E.R.D. never sounded so cool. Fans have a new song from the rap trio, which was premiered courtesy of Pharrell Williams on his OTHERtone radio show on Beats 1.
Skateboard P sat down with Tyler, The Creator on the show and discussed a slew of music-related topics including how he met Michael Jackson before he played the track.
On the song, it seems Pharrell's girl is keeping him a secret, but although she keeps him "locked away," he sticks around because "you make life worth living" and "you make love worth giving."
The N.E.R.D.-produced beat, which was initially to appear on the group’s 2002 debut, In Search Of…, includes their signature snares and funkiness but has a bit of a swing. "When you were in my arms, those inside I could see the stars / As if they were not far, I've read what they were saying / It said the world is yours, with her you make it better / So imaging you two together, it'd be so amazing," Pharrell sings.
