Man Parachutes Into Cable Car 500 Feet High, Proves Crazy Can Be Amazing
Think of the craziest thing you've ever done. Chances are it can't hold a candle to this.
France's Arnaud Longobardi, 43, is a speed flyer -- how's that for a job title? -- who recently parachuted into a cable car nearly 500 feet off the ground in the Alps.
Yup, that craziest thing you've ever done probably seems like drinking milk a day after its expiration date, right?
Longobardi said this stunt was a long time coming:
I had this project in mind for a full year before I did it. I thought about it every day, thought through all the challenges - speed, angle, height - all the different scenarios from the takeoff to the approach to the landing. After 6 months, I finally decided OK, I’ve thought through all the possibilities and there is nothing that can happen during the flight that I haven’t imagined and mentally prepared for. This is doable."
Longobardi clearly has a different definition of "doable" than most other people. Still, we give him credit. He managed to pull this off when any little thing could have sent him bumbling into the ground with nothing to show for it except for a few dozen broken bones.
