You can’t have a Mad Max movie without some seriously awesome vehicles, many of which we’ve spotted in the trailers involved in intensely explosive action sequences. If you’ve been wanting to get a better look at those vehicles, we’ve got a gallery of new images from Fury Road that let you appreciate these truly twisted machines — take a good look because pretty soon you’ll be watching them all get destroyed.

Car and Driver acquired the 10 images above, each showcasing a different vehicle from the upcoming film rather stylishly. Among them you’ll find the Gigahorse, a gigantic truck that comes with two — two — Cadillac Coupe DeVilles piled on top, as well as the FDK (no explanation for what means). Then there’s a part-Valiant Charger, part-Ripsaw tank known as the Peacemaker, though I doubt that will be giving anyone much peace, and a Volkswagen Beetle which is far more insidious and damaging than one might assume.

Also of note: production designer Colin Gibson built “150 or so” of these monstrous vehicles for Mad Max: Fury Road — that’s pretty impressive.

Haunted by his turbulent past, Mad Max believes the best way to survive is to wander alone.  Nevertheless, he becomes swept up with a group fleeing across the Wasteland in a War Rig driven by an elite Imperator, Furiosa.  They are escaping a Citadel tyrannized by the Immortan Joe, from whom something irreplaceable has been taken.  Enraged, the Warlord marshals all his gangs and pursues the rebels ruthlessly in the high-octane Road War that follows.

Mad Max: Fury Road stars Tom Hardy, Charlize Theron and Nicholas Hoult, and hits theaters on May 15.
