Jack White Mashes Up Jay Z’s “99 Problems” With “Icky Thump”

Jack White broke out The White Stripes' "Icky Thump" at his Forecastle Festival set in Louisville, Kentucky, on Saturday, and after a couple verses he worked in an interpolation of Jay Z's "99 Problems," proclaiming that "a bitch ain't one." And thus the rock-sampling rap track goes full circle. We just hope Jack isn't slagging Meg.

White and Hov logged some studio time together in recent years, but the material was ultimately scrapped. However, they did collaborate on the vinyl release of The Great Gatsby soundtrack, so this homage isn't as random as it may seem on the surface. Plus, a few weeks ago, White covered the other half of the Throne, doing a bit of Kanye West's "Black Skinhead." Check out the Jay Z non-sequitur at 2:54 below.
