Jack White has been trotting out mini-covers on the reg during his Lazaretto tour, most recently with a snippet of Metallica's "Enter Sandman" at Glastonbury over the weekend. Now comes footage of White opening a Dublin show with an instrumental version of Kanye West's "Black Skinhead."

The unmistakable martial drum stomp starts things off, and soon White's band transforms it into a rootsy ripper, all squealing fiddle, saloon piano, and crashing cymbals. After a few minutes the song transitions into White's instrumental album cut "High Ball Stepper." It's a tantalizing moment, considering White's recent revelation that West had approached him to work on Yeezus. Since the rock hero doesn't really use email, we're going to assume this was a sonic smoke signal to let Ye know he's still down to collab on that new album.

Watch the fan-shot video of the "Black Skinhead" cover below (the video itself is terrible, but the audio is solid).
