Tracy Morgan made quite the emotional return to the public eye during the 2015 Emmy Awards, his first televised appearance since the comedian’s involvement in a major car accident last year. In addition to hosting SNL this fall and working on his new FXX show, Morgan has also set his first film role since the accident: the actor and comedian has joined Ice Cube and Charlie Day in the upcoming comedy Fist Fight.

The Wrap reports that Morgan has signed on to co-star in Fist Fight, marking his first film since he recovered from last year’s accident. Morgan spent several months in recovery leading up to his emotional and delightful appearance at last night’s Emmy Awards. Morgan appears to be fully re-committing himself to his work, making his role in Fist Fight just another big step in his professional recovery.

Fist Fight centers on a nebbish teacher (Day) who is challenged to a fist fight by his much more outspoken and aggressive co-worker (Ice Cube). It’s unclear what Morgan’s role is in the new film, though he will be joined by former Breaking Bad star Dean Norris as the school principal, and 22 Jump Street’s hilarious Jillian Bell as the guidance counselor.

Fist Fight is being directed by Richie Keen from a script by Evan Susser and Van Robichaux. It will be Morgan’s first film role since Chris Rock’s Top Five, which he starred in prior to his accident.
