More than another Defender series, Luke Cage is building a tremendous amount of anticipation for its musical stylings, including Adrian Younge and Ali Shaheed Muhammad composing. We all knew a Black Panther title had to be on the way from Marvel, given the character's upcoming movie appearance in Captain America: Civil War. We also knew it was a title the publisher had to get right. Black Panther is arguably the most important black superhero in comics, not just because he's the first, and not just because of the resonance of his name, but because his strength, status, and ingenuity mark him out as an icon of black excellence. Marvel needed to pick a creative team that showed due respect to everything the character stands for. Today Marvel revealed that writer Ta-Nehisi Coates and artist Brian Stelfreeze are the creative team for a brand new Black Panther series. Hey, Marvel; good job.

Ahead of San Diego Comic-Con 2015, Dynamite has announced that writer Warren Ellis and artist Jason Masters will be the creative team on a new James Bond ongoing series this November. Having acquired the James Bond licence last year --- it was one of Dynamite's SDCC announcements for 2014 --- the publisher will launch the series, titled James Bond 007, starting this November.

The Walking Dead alum Jon Bernthal will officially take Frank Castle into the MCU, donning a white skull as Daredevil Season 2's take on The Punisher.

Ed Piskor's Hip-Hop Family Tree, the ongoing hip-hop-history series from Fantagraphics that has til now come out on an irregular schedule, will this August become the first monthly series published by the company. Both written and drawn by Piskor, each volume of the series has traced a few years in the history of hi-hop, covering the rise of performers including Run DMC and Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five.
