Twenty-one-year-old John Anthony Brooks had a dream a few nights ago. “I had a dream. I told some teammates that I dreamed that I scored in the 80th minute and that we’d win the game,” he said via Goal.com. He was only a few minutes off. “It was the 86th minute and we won.”

Despite never having lived in the United States, the German-born player (his pops is an American) wrote himself into this country’s history books with a late game-winning header to help the USMNT beat Ghana, 2-1 on Monday night in the team’s World Cup opener.
