Given the evolution of the women in James Bond films (and the evolution of actual thinking in real life), maybe it’s time we started referring to them as Bond Women instead of Bond Girls — Bond Girls just sounds like they’re posing for a beer calendar. At any rate, new photos and information from Spectre have arrived to give us a proper introduction to the ladies of Bond’s latest outing.

The new photos come courtesy of USA Today, which also features a profile on the four leading ladies: Lea Seydoux, Monica Bellucci, Naomie Harris (reprising her role from the previous film), and Stephanie Sigman. We’re already familiar with Harris in her role as Eve Moneypenny, the young and fresh MI6 agent from Skyfall who nearly offed James Bond last time around. This time, Harris tells the publication, she’s reassessing her career and future, and though she’s back to help 007, “she wants to support in a different way.”

But what about the other three ladies in Bond’s life? Seydoux plays Madeleine Swann, the daughter of an assassin and a doctor whom Bond seeks out, though Seydoux reveals she “doesn’t want to have anything to do with him,” making her a more atypical Bond Girl. Bellucci takes on the role of Lucia Sciarra, the widowed wife of a mafioso who, as the actress reveals, “comes from a man’s world.” Bond wants to get answers from Lucia, who fears that she will soon meet her husband’s fate.

Finally there’s Sigman, in the mysterious role of Estrella. The actress says she can’t divulge any details about her character or her role in Spectre, but she refers to Estrella as “fun” and “joyful.”

Spectre also stars Christoph WaltzBen Whishaw, Ralph Fiennes and Dave Bautista, and hits theaters on November 6.
