Sneaker of the Week: J. Crew x New Balance 998 Beach Ball

It’s finally beach weather, and with bikini season in full effect J. Crew has put together a fine tribute to the special time of year. They’ve put a summery spin on the New Balance 998 to give the shoe an overall great vibe. The sneaker evokes such a warm feeling that we had to make it our Sneaker of the Week.

The New Balance 998 is seen here with a sandy tan suede build and tonal mesh inserts in the ankle and toe. The model then gets a boost from vibrant hits of red, yellow and blue on the leather and plastic inserts that you find trimming the model. It definitely has the feel of a beach ball or balloon, and even if you don’t live near the ocean the model feels as cool as an ocean breeze.
