Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

We’re winding down Best Of 2014 Week here at ScreenCrush with today’s lists of the best TV shows and movie posters (to go along with our already completed lists of the best movies and trailers). But in this time of celebration, let’s not lose sight of what’s really important: Making jokes about terrible movies. 2014 was jammed with exceptional films, but those great movies were surrounded (and often crowded-out of multiplexes) by plenty of stinkers as well. As we bid a fond farewell to the year in movies, ScreenCrush Editor-In-Chief Mike Sampson and I decided to take one final look back at the flops that nearly destroyed us. But like that old expression says: That which does not kill us makes us write strongly-worded listicles.

That down there is the seemingly innocuous poster for the Australian release of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Absurd and action-packed and exactly in line with the overall over-the-top vibe of the trailers. However, upon closer inspection, you'll see that the release date is September 11, and then your eyes go back up to the image and realize, ooooh, an exploding skyscraper, living beings falling

Comic-Con is in full gear in San Diego, and one of the big movies doing a final promotional push there is Michael Bay's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The CGI-assisted action flick is out August 8, and most people from our generation are already bracing for what will inevitably be a complete desecration of all that we held sacred as kids...

Wiz Khalifa, Juicy J, and Ty Dolla $ign team up for numerous sibling-based rhymes on "Shell Shocked" from the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie. Juicy starts things off, then Wiz handles the "Knock, knock, you about to get shell shocked" refrain (which just doesn't roll off the tongue the way "Ninja, ninja rrrap" does)...
