For Better or Worse, 20 Films With Hip Hop Theme Songs
For Better or Worse, 20 Films With Hip Hop Theme Songs
For Better or Worse, 20 Films With Hip Hop Theme Songs
To celebrate the release of Suicide Squad — which has its own song courtesy of Skrillex and Rick Ross — we collected 20 of the weirdest, wackiest and most wonderful (but mostly wonderfully terrible) hip hop theme songs in movie history. Our criteria is simple: The song has to be from the film’s official soundtrack (sorry, “Nightmare on My Street”) and must be directly related to the title or the narrative of said film. From Deep Blue Sea to Wild Wild West and (almost) everything in between, this list celebrates some of the best and worst of one of cinema’s most absurd musical devices.

The 50 Best Action Movie Posters of All Time
In the middle of a summer movie season like the one we’re in now, it can be hard to stand out. There is a lot of competition. The BFG and The Legend of Tarzan open this friday; Independence Day: Resurgence opened last Friday. Big blockbuster pictures like X-Men: Apocalypse, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows, Warcraft, Captain America: Civil War, and The Jungle Book are all still playing in theaters. From a distance a lot of these movies begin to blend together.

Daniel Craig couldn’t have made it more clear during the Spectre press tour that he was pretty sick of playing James Bond. He even went so far as to suggest he’d pick slashing his wrists over returning as the famous secret agent for a fifth time. And now it looks like the actor is really done as 007, reportedly turning down a ton of money to star in the next Bond film. As big of a bummer as that is, it also means it’s time to speculate!

Technically, we don’t know who Christoph Waltz is playing in Spectre. But he sure looks like he’s a rebooted version of James Bond’s old arch-nemesis, Ernst Stavro Blofeld; legendary terrorist and leader of the evil organization SPECTRE. And even if it turns out that Waltz isn’t technically playing Blofeld, as the head of the reborn SPECTRE, he’s basically playing a new version of the same guy. Which got us thinking: What other classic Bond characters would we like to see added to current 007 continuity? Who should Daniel Craig square off with or romance with a pithy one-liner? In no particular order, here are our five top picks (along with five videos of the original versions of the characters in action):

When speaking of East Coast hip-hop of the '90s, Gang Starr is likely to come up as one of the preeminent duos from that era. Comprised of the late Guru and DJ Premier, the pair would help cultivate the sound that was prevalent throughout the second golden era of New York rap...

The good movies are supposed to come out in the second half of the year. January through June, that’s the dumping ground; the crap that was so toxic it had to get buried in the winter, followed by the empty-headed excitement of summer blockbuster season.
