The rash of cognitive dissonance plaguing NFL fans this month rages on, as Nike has just announced that they have suspended Adrian Peterson's endorsement contract. "Nike in no way condones child abuse or domestic violence of any kind and has shared our concerns with the NFL," the company said in a statement.

The good news, for AP, is that they haven't dropped him completely, meaning they can reinstate him whenever they want. This is probably a smart move, considering how big he is for the brand and the fact that the legal proceedings have only just begun. SMH at all the scrubs decked out head to toe in Pro Combat gear, though.

Peterson may not quite have the "Tiger Effect" ($10.2 million effective, to be exact) that led to Nike standing by Woods during his "ordeal," and his alleged offense is more repugnant, but who knows, AP might pull a Michael Vick, prove that he's a changed man (Vick and his puppy attended a dog training class in New Jersey last year) and return in all his Nike glory. Everyone — especially fantasy football diehards — loves a good comeback story.
