LeBron James Leaves Miami to Return to the Cleveland Cavaliers

LeBron James is going back to Cleveland Cavaliers. Seriously. This is not a joke. This is not a hoax. It's really happening.

In the summer of 2010, when LeBron James announced via his own nationally-televised special on ESPN, "The Decision," that he'd be taking his talents to South Beach, the people of Cleveland burned his jersey in the streets. The owner of the Cavs wrote an eviscerating open letter to James (in comic sans font, no less) proclaiming that "I PERSONALLY GUARANTEE THAT THE CLEVELAND CAVALIERS WILL WIN AN NBA CHAMPIONSHIP BEFORE THE SELF-TITLED FORMER ‘KING’ WINS ONE." Yes, he wrote it in all caps.

Cleveland made James, a local hero from nearby Akron, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2003 NBA Draft. In his first seven years of his NBA career, LeBron led the Cavs to the playoffs five times, including a trip to the NBA Finals in 2007. And then, without much prompting, he left for Miami to join Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh.

The state of Ohio revolted, vowing never to forgive him, as he took the Heat to four straight Finals, winning twice.

Now, at 29 years old, The King is back to write the next chapter of his NBA career. The weeks of speculation, and Twitter jokes, and LeBron stans around the country waiting to be told which jersey to break out of the closet—it's over. Cleveland is the reason.
