5 Vehicles We Wanted So Bad as Kids — And We’d Love Just as Much Today

When we were just kids, still dependent on adults to drive us to practice or to our friend’s house, many of us dreamed of having a set of wheels of our own one day. At that time, our imaginations hadn’t calcified or been reined in yet by the grind of adulthood, which meant we could still dream really big.

While the grown-up versions of our little selves might want something slick — like, say, Steve McQueen’s 1968 Ford Mustang from the film Bullitt (see here) — the hopeful child in us would probably be more interested in James Bond’s submersible Lotus from The Spy Who Loved Me. Here are five vehicles your childhood self would have gone crazy for — and you (jaded grown-up you) might be pretty happy with as well.
