At last year’s Emmys, Jimmy Kimmel sent a message to Tracy Morgan, who had been hospitalized in a coma following a traffic accident that killed one of Morgan’s friends and fellow comedians. “Shout out to Tracy Morgan, we’ll see you next year, Tracy,” Kimmel told the audience at the time. Almost one year later, Morgan made good on Kimmel’s promise and surprised the Emmys crowd as he arrived on stage to present the final award of the night for Best Drama Series to a standing ovation from the crowd.

Just how head-drooping-perilously-close-to-the-keyboard boring were the Emmys this year? The most talked about m0ment was when Gwen Stefani called The Colbert Report The Colbort Report. That wasn't even the best awards show name flub of the year...

Weird Al Yankovic showed up at the Emmys last night, continuing his career year, to perform a medley of theme songs with spoof lyrics, presumably because host Seth Meyers couldn't front the requisite musical number required of all awards shows...

We haven't had a chance to recover from last night's MTV VMAs, and now we've already gotta move on to the 66th Primetime Emmy Awards, which air tonight at 8 p.m. ET on NBC. The network is keeping it in-house with Seth Meyers hosting (aw it's so sad because he seems like a nice guy and he's invited to this place where his Late Night will never be invited)...

Mindy Kaling and Carson Daly got up bright and early on the West Coast to announce the nominees for this year's Primetime Emmy Awards, and unsurprisingly the 2014 nominations field is led by Game of Thrones.
