Your Country Needs You: Help Run The Jewels Re-Record Their Album With Cat Noises

Run The Jewels are prepping the release of their second album, RTJ2, and it's shaping up to be a beast. And because Killer Mike and El-P are pretty much the dopest guys in music, they unveiled a list of deluxe album packages available, some reasonable and some completely ridiculous and fake, all of them worth perusing. One of the ridiculous ones was the $40,000 Meow The Jewels edition, in which "Run The Jewels will re-record RTJ2 using nothing but cat sounds for music."

And now, because this is how the internet works, someone has actually set up a Kickstarter to make it happen. As of this writing, it only has $4,500 in contributions, so it needs another $40k. But fear not! El-P has thrown his support behind it, so this joke could actually become a glorious reality.

Here's what you need to do: RTJ2 will also be released as a free download. Everyone who downloads it should just levy their payment as a contribution to the Meow The Jewels Kickstarter, and this thing will happen. Plus, charity.

So don't be a dick. Help the world hear a pair of top notch rappers rap over a bunch of meowing cats. Time to see if this whole "internet" thing is all it's cracked up to be.
