It's been five months since Prince left us but the tributes are continuing to roll in.

The Minnesota Vikings paid tribute to Minneapolis' favorite son by covering the entire stadium in purple lighting during the halftime performance--which featured Minnesota Orchestra and gospel group The Steeles. Naturally, they performed "Purple Rain."

Fans also playfully acknowledged that the Green Bay Packers also paid tribute to Prince when quarterback Aaron Rodgers passed the ball to the wide receiver Jordy Nelson. Together, their last names connect as Rodgers Nelson -- the same as Prince, himself. With that pass, they also scored the first touchdown at the Vikings new stadium--although we're sure the fans would have preferred the home team had that honor.

It's widely known that Prince, who was born in Minneapolis, had love for his home state and loved sports. In 2010, Prince wrote "Purple and Gold," a fight song for the Vikings.

Shortly after Prince's passing, the team stated that they "will forever be proud and grateful that he considered himself a Vikings fan."

And there's still more tributes to come. The Official Prince Tribute: A Celebration of Life & Music is scheduled to happen on Oct. 13 in St. Paul with a star-studded line-up that includes Stevie Wonder, Christina Aguilera, Chaka Khan, John Mayer, Tori Kelly, Anita Baker, Doug E. Fresh, Luke James, Bilal, Mint Condition, Morris Day & the Time, Judith Hill and Liv Warfield and the New Power Generation with keyboardist Morris Hayes and members of 3RDEYEGIRL.
