Merchandise’s “Green Lady” Is Unapologetically Grand
Merchandise returns with "Green Lady," another swooner from their forthcoming album After the End. While "Enemy" was equal parts jangly and moody, this track soars with the unapologetic grandeur of '80s anthems, with sitars and cushy drum pad fills rounding out the rich, shoegaze-leaning arrangement. Before things get too cinematic and billowy, though, there's a jolt of spikiness to close things out.
And lead singer Carson Cox is in top form, not that we had to even point that out.
After the End is out August 26 on 4AD.
