An NFC North upset and two routs were on the menu for the NFL’s Thanksgiving Day games. Here’s a recap of the day’s action:

Chicago’s defense stopped Green Bay on a fourth-and-goal with 22 seconds to play, and the Bears upset the Packers, 17-13, at a rainy Lambeau Field on Thanksgiving night.

Jay Cutler threw for 200 yards and a touchdown for Chicago (5-6), but the Bears didn’t clinch the win until Aaron Rodgers’ pass into the end zone glanced off the hands of receiver Davante Adams with under 30 seconds left.

Rodgers finished with 202 yards passing, a touchdown and an interception.

The loss and the weather dampened a historic night for Green Bay (7-4): retired former quarterback Brett Favre returned to see his name and uniform No. 4 permanently added to the franchise’s Ring of Honor at Lambeau Field.

The Bears notched their third win in four games and climbed to within two games of the Packers in the NFC North.

Carolina 33, Dallas 14

The Panthers intercepted Tony Romo three times before knocking him out of the game, and Carolina remained unbeaten with a 33-14 rout of the Cowboys in Dallas on Thanksgiving.

In his second game back after missing two months with a broken left clavicle, Romo threw three interceptions that led to 17 points for the Panthers. He left the game after his left shoulder was re-injured on a sack by Thomas Davis on the final play of the third quarter.

Carolina (11-0) took the lead for good when Kurt Coleman intercepted Romo’s pass on the third play of the game and returned it 36 yards for a score. Panthers linebacker Luke Kuechly added another pick-six late in the second quarter, as Carolina built a 23-3 halftime lead over Dallas (3-8).

Panthers quarterback Cam Newton threw for just 183 yards, but he also ran for 45 yards, including his 40th career rushing touchdown.

With the victory, Carolina is in position to clinch a playoff spot on Sunday if the Seahawks and Buccaneers lose; the Seahawks and Falcons lose, or the Buccaneers, Vikings and Cardinals all lose.

Detroit 45, Philadelphia 14

Matthew Stafford passed for 337 yards and five touchdowns, including three to Calvin Johnson, and the Lions routed the Philadelphia Eagles, 45-14, in Detroit on Thanksgiving Day. The Lions allowed just 227 total yards and recorded six sacks en route to their third consecutive win.

The outcome of the game was all but decided by halftime, as Detroit (4-7) took a 24-7 lead into intermission thanks to Stafford’s first three TD passes. The rout continued in the third quarter when Stafford connected with Johnson for the duo’s second and third touchdowns of the game.

Philadelphia (4-7) lost its third straight contest, and gave up 45 points for the second game in a row. The team also lost starting cornerback Nolan Carroll to a broken ankle early in the game.
