Watch ‘Luke Cage’ Tour Harlem in Gorgeous Opening Credits
Luke Cage will officially make his mark on Netflix in just a few hours, but believe it or not, certain crazies out there don’t have the subscription to partake. So it is, that Luke Cage can entice us even further with its shimmering, melodic title sequence, following in the footsteps of Daredevil and Jessica Jones.
Seeing as Jessica Jones actually took home a Creative Arts Emmy for its theme music (losing, but nominated for the main title design), Marvel and Netflix hope Luke Cage can manage a similar feat by its own opening credits. The visuals are gorgeous, overlaying classic Harlem and New York imagery over Cage’s endlessly muscular form, and packing a significant punch by the end.

One last time, so reads the official synopsis:
After a sabotaged experiment leaves him with super strength and unbreakable skin, Luke Cage (Mike Colter) becomes a fugitive trying to rebuild his life in modern day Harlem, New York City. But he is soon pulled out of the shadows and must fight a battle for the heart of his city – forcing him to confront a past he had tried to bury.
Netflix’s Luke Cage will feature among its supporting cast Sons of Anarchy vet Theo Rossi as “Shades” Alvarez, alongside Mahershala Ali’s Cornell “Cottonmouth” Stokes, Alfre Woodard’s Mariah Dillard, Erik LaRay Harvey’s Diamondback, Frank Whaley’s Detective Rafael Scarfe and Simone Missick’s Misty Knight.
