Larry David has penned a play for Broadway, and he'll star in it as himself — or at least as "Larry David." The Curb Your Enthusiasm star and Seinfeld co-creator gave the New York Times some details about the production, Fish in the Dark, saying he'll play "somebody very similar to Larry David – it might even be Larry David with a different name." This will be David's first stage performance since eighth grade, he says, not counting his notoriously combative stand-up years, or that time he starred in The Producers on Curb.

Fish in the Dark will run at a Shubert theater and will open on March 5. As for what it's about? In classic LD fashion, it's a comedy about a death in a family. So this is all great news, but it's also terrible news, because it means we'll have to wait even longer for the next season of Curb.
