Add this one to the list of tantalizing Kanye West almost-collabs, among the ranks of Jack White, Phoenix, and Skrillex. Legendary director/sometime musician/meditation guru David Lynch says he was supposed to helm a "Blood on the Leaves" video, but it never happened.

In a new interview with The Daily Beast, Lynch talks about being a fan of Kanye's music, revealing that "Blood on the Leaves" is one of his favorite songs and that they were supposed to work together on the visuals.

"We almost worked together, but I never got the ideas," Lynch told the site. "I feel I let him down a little bit. I was going to do the music video for 'Blood on the Leaves,' but it never happened. I didn’t come up with any ideas that I thought he would like. Kanye came up to the house one day. Kanye’s a good guy, and a great musician. I loved the song, and that’s what brought us together, but I couldn’t come up with ideas that thrilled either one of us."

See, even legends get writer's block — but seriously they need to hold another summit and crank something out.
