Marvel’s Netflix Daredevil has sparked plenty of rumors and speculation that The Punisher might make his MCU debut, but never had we thought Season 2 had already cast him, and so well! The Walking Dead alum Jon Bernthal will officially take Frank Castle into the MCU, donning a white skull as Daredevil Season 2's take on The Punisher.

Marvel has yet to reveal many formal details of The Punisher’s role in Season 2, though The Hollywood Reporter at least claims Bernthal’s Frank Castle will have “a big presence” in Hell’s Kitchen this time around. Departed showrunner Steven DeKnight had previously spoken of his interest in taking a Punisher series to Netflix, though up until now, the character’s MCU appearance had been largely speculation.

Thus far of Daredevil Season 2, we know that Rosario Dawson has been confirmed to reprise her role as Claire Temple, while Doug Petrie and Marco Ramirez will take over showrunning duties from Spartacus vet Steven S. DeKnight, with Drew Goddard remaining onboard as a consultant. Recent audition tapes seemingly confirmed that Elektra would appear in the second season, while recent Jason Statham / Bullseye reports also listed Marvel’s Mister Fear and Spider-Man villain Mysterio as potential villains.

Daredevil Season 2 will begin production at the end of the month, but what make you of Jon Bernthal as The Punisher? What other famous Marvel characters could pop up when Season 2 bows in 2016?
