Today, Converse announced the launch of the Converse CONS Weapon Skate, the newest modern spin-off of the iconic Weapon silhouette, this time made specifically for skateboarding.

That means more durability, more comfort, and snugger fit, all under the umbrella of the classic Weapon look. More, from Converse:

The sneaker comes equipped with a drop-in Lunarlon sockliner that provides cushioning, perforated memory foam and a gusseted tongue construction. A mesh underlay on the hallmark Star Chevron increases breathability and CONS Traction Rubber enhances a skater’s grip.

The brand also launched this dope little video below, following CONS skater Zered Basset around New York City as he rides in the Weapon Skate kicks. “When I’m skating in New York City, I love looking down at this sneaker,” said Bassett via Converse press release. “The cupsole of the Converse CONS Weapon Skate protects my feet, and it’s not too thick so I can really feel my board.”

The Converse CONS Weapon Skate is coming Fall 2014 in three launch colorways, with a retail tag of $85, over at Converse.com/CONS.
