Bobby Shmurda Nabbed for Gun Charge in June, Out on Bail Ever Since
Bobby Shmurda is the undisputed rap king of the summer, having closed out August with a cameo during Drake's New Jersey set earlier this week to perform his viral hit "Hot Nigga." But now TMZ reports that back in June, the NYC teen was arrested for gun possession.
According to court documents acquired by the site, Shmurda was nabbed with a 9mm Glock pistol and a magazine with 14 rounds. He was allegedly displaying the weapon in a Brownsville, Brooklyn, apartment and when cops went to investigate it, he tried to hide it in the couch. How/why the cops were watching what was going down in an apartment, well, that's a whole issue unto itself which is unclear at the moment.
The Shmoney Dance originator was charged with felony criminal possession of a weapon, which could result in 15 years in prison. He's been out on $10,000 bail ever since, according to the New York Post.
Absorb the unfortunate news by giving a listen to the official reggae remix of "Hot Nigga," featuring Junior Reid, Mavado, Popcaan, and Jah X.
