Blindfolded Dunk Quickly Escalates Into Disastrous Dunk

Justin Melton won the Philippines Basketball Association’s slam dunk contest in 2014. Lightning was not destined to strike twice, however.

For an encore to his championship performance, Melton, a five-nine guard who played his college ball at Mount Olive, decided to throw down while blindfolded. The results were positively putrid. Here’s another look at it:

He was rejected by air, which is the most embarrassing way to be rejected in basketball. That’s why people always gasp at airballs. He may want to exclude this from any reel he puts together when trying to take his game stateside.

Melton, though, can take heart in knowing he’s got that 2014 title. Here’s part of his performance that magical evening:
