Michael Jordan’s second signature sneaker is vastly underrated but it's recent releases are out to change that perception. From the Air Jordan 2 Wing It to the Just Don Beach model, Nike is finally giving the sneaker colorways as rich as the actual history of it’s origin story.

The Alternate 89 series tells the story of PE models that never happened and revisionist history never looked so good. The Air Jordan 2 in the series gets a black leather upper with pops of red peaking out here and there as highlights. This pair is serious business and it serves as a succinct kick in the teeth with a colorway that would perk up any pair it was applied to.

The Air Jordan 2 Alternate 89 is set to release on February 6 at Nike with a retail price of $190. They’ll launch the model at 10 am so you might want to set an alarm to ensure that you don’t miss out.
