Everyone was prepared for a penalty kick shootout, until German substitute Mario Götze banged home a goal in the 113th minute of the 2014 World Cup Final on Sunday, sealing Germany's first World Cup win since 1990.

It was a world-class finish from Götze, and one fitting to win such an incredible tournament. Watch below:

Argentina's Lionel Messi takes home the Golden Ball award for the best player in this year's World Cup, though he'd surely trade it for having come away with the team hardware vs. Germany on Sunday.
